What is Beauty Changes Lives you ask? Beauty Changes Lives is a nonprofit foundation committed to elevating the perception of the beauty industry as a viable and rewarding career choice. Their vision is to unite all aspects of our industry including schools, educators, product manufacturers, distributors, salon owners, technicians and more, to support the next generation of beauty and wellness professionals as they begin their journey to become the next leaders and icons of our industry.
Twice a year, they give away thousands of dollars in scholarships to students currently enrolled in a cosmetology, esthetics or nail technology program. There is also a scholarship available to licensed professionals (including educators) for continuing education. There are a total of 9 scholarships available, 2 are open to students attending an accredited school, while the remaining 7 are offered exclusive to AACS (American Association of Cosmetology School) member schools. Since 2013, Beauty Changes Lives has given away over $1.5 Million in scholarships to students in the beauty and wellness industry.
This is a valuable resource that is available to the majority of our schools. If your school is not currently taking advantage of it, you should be! Educators, make sure to pass this information on to your school owners, admissions team and financial aid staff. On the Beauty Changes Lives website there is a brochure that can be printed and given to every prospective student in your school.
